James O’Hara

James O’Hara accepts briefs in all areas of commercial law.

James has experience in the conduct of high value commercial disputes in superior courts across Australia. He has particular expertise in class actions, corporate insolvency, energy and resources, and insurance. He has appeared in various courts and tribunals.

Before joining the Bar, James was a Senior Associate in the disputes team at Herbert Smith Freehills. He previously served as the Associate to the Hon. Justice Hall in the Supreme Court of Western Australia. He has tutored in property law and taxation law.

James holds a Master of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Melbourne. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws with Distinction and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.
